| | Ok, this is just a preliminary sounding out thingummajig, but does anyone on my friends list want (or is even considering wanting) to move into a share house by the end of the year? because I would really like to! | comments: 30 comments or Leave a comment |
| i lied a bit to you today sab, its not really classical music on the BHD soundtrack. Its very eclectic, and i didnt know quite how to describe it.
So i went shopping with sab, celine and celine's mute sister this morning at some innaloo op shops. Kinda thin pickings unfortunately, picked up an oversized woolen jumper to bum around the house during winter in - and stumbled upon a block mounted reservoir dogs poster for $5, which was very fortunate! Map of the Universe has been retired for the time being, until i find some better spot for it. Went to clubroom to study afterwards and managed to find some sources for my research essay, unfortunately i am only halfway to the required target of 30 for the bibliographical exercise. 30 sources is a stupidly huge number for a 2500 word essay. | comments: 6 comments or Leave a comment |

1 Waking up in the morning, late. And remembering that there is nothing at all demanding my attention today. Holidays are awesome. 2 Driving. After three years driving the same car on the same streets, it's still a good way to pass the time. 3 Following on from that, singing in my car. I don't do much of it anywhere else but when I'm alone and driving, I'll belt out a few hopelessly bad tunes :) I have a lot of fun in the car. 4 Punching the hell out of something. Unsurprisingly, it is very cathartic. 5 Looking up from a game to check the clock and seeing it is about 6 hours later than I imagined. Generally only happens with civilisation games. 6 Having someone I respect laugh at my jokes. I am apparently in constant need of comedic reassurance :) 7 Reading a good book, the "cant put down" type of good. 8 Checking out hot chicks. 9 Smirking at Wendy. 10 Painting my toenails to look like talons, so when i pick up mice with my feet I can pretend I'm an eagle (thanks for the tip bill bailey)

| So, nightfill >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> pressing. I started at 10pm sustained by a servo chicken sandwich purchased from Evan who works the worst hours I have ever heard of. Work ran until 3am, apparently it was a pretty bad night because of the long weekend, but the time just flew by. The boss Fernando was friendly and showed me the basics, as well as another new guy called Jay who had just started. Jay was probably Singaporean. In fact judging by the amount of 'lah's going around I think everyone except for myself, Fernando and another white guy Olly was singaporean. Am trying to recall names, I remember Brian, Raj (or maybe Rash or Raz or something), Jason, Christina, and Boon, and there was one other guy i didn't speak to. Oh, and one other older white guy who worked out the back sorting trolleys of stuff. They seemed like a really fun crew, when they weren't talking in moon language amongst themselves they were joking and singing along with the radio and making me feel welcome which was
So, at no point did i beg for a violent end to my pitiful existence like i do with every instant spent at the drycleaners. The work is simple, the people are cool, and the pay is good. No doubt I will revisit this post in a month or so and mock my own naivety, but for now I am very pleased with my new job :)
Oh, and I woke up at 12:15 today :P | comments: 9 comments or Leave a comment |

| | so, my first shift is an hour away, and win will not be there to take my petite, girlish hand in his mighty, masculine paw and show me the metaphorical ropes. I hope HJs is still open, because I am very hungry, and knock off time is about 2am :o | comments: 6 comments or Leave a comment |

| I started a joke Which started the whole world crying Oh but I didn’t see That the joke was on me...oh no.. And I started to cry Which started the whole world laughing Oh if I’d only seen That the joke was on me
And I looked at the skies Running my hands Over my eyes And I fell out of bed Cursing my head For things that I’ve said
Till I finally died Which started the whole world living Oh if I’d only seen That the joke was on me
And I looked at the skies Running my hands Over my eyes And I fell out of bed Cursing my head For things that I’ve said
Till I finally died Which started the whole world living Oh if I’d only seen That the joke was on me That the joke was on me.........me......... | comments: Leave a comment |

| so i have been thinking about a few things this evening and for some reason i think should write them down. This will be a repeat for Kien and Wendy, apologies. And apologies to everyone else because this isn't gonna make a lot of sense.
Semicolons; Nobody ever uses semicolons. People use the more commonly accepted comma, full stop and hyphen for their punctuation needs. The colon is relegated to merely heading lists, while the semicolon is abandoned entirely. I have discovered the reason for this sorry state of affairs. People are afraid of the semicolon. Terrified. Why? Because semicolons are the unknown. People are afraid of the unknown, it is a very scary thing. And nobody knows what the fuck a semicolon is, what it's for, why it exists. People have the vague idea that it is some sort of super comma, however they aren't comfortable with it. It is an intimidating, unknown, and hence neglected piece of grammatical history. Rest in peace, sweet prince of punctuation.
Ok, now for another theory that is a little bit more crazy but also more closely related to areas of general interest. If you are a little girl in a kickass action film, you will go on to become extremely hot later in life. What evidence do I have to support this mad hypothesis? Well, I will demonstrate. I present to you Exhibit A, Natalie Portman. She starred alongside Jean Reno in Leon: The Professional when she was 13 or so. And now? star of many hollywood blockbusters and more importantly to this study, hot. Exhibit B, Alyssa Milano. Played a minor but important role as Arnold Schwarzenegger's daughter in Commando, around about 10. Present day? Leading lady of hit (garbage) tv show, Charmed. And, once again, a hot looking chick. Exhibit C? Eliza Dushku. Once again, a cinematic daughter of Arnie, this time in True Lies. Has gone on to appear in the Buffy and Angel tv series, as well as numerous movie roles. By this point, you surely will have surmised that she is gorgeous. My challenge to you, as the reader, is to present a counter example. IF YOU CAN.
there, thats what my mind has been rolling over the last coupla hours. Do with it what you will. | comments: 28 comments or Leave a comment |

| MOVIES: Everyone has previously said just about everything i could about V for Vendetta. It's a great film, and I'll just add that even with a shaved head and in a prison gown, Natalie Portman is really hot. As for Firewall, it is basically Air Force One on the ground. and with Paul Bettany as this bizzarely incompetent badguy. Also, Harrison Ford growls every single line in this movie. The same way DMX raps is how Harrison Ford delivers his lines.
TV: Went to Bens last night with taz for a games night that turned into a Rescue Me marathon somehow, and I watched the first 8 eps. It's a really excellent show, at times hilarious and disturbing, and occasionally both. I think the best part is that it is very realistic, I could believe this stuff actually happened. I'd highly recommend it to everyone :)
After I got home i decided to start on the Arrested Development that Win passed me, and kept watching until 4am, Got up, went to work, came back and started again. Unfortunately everything after 1x15 is corrupted, and i gotta have the rest. It is goddamn hilarious. Segways will never stop being hilarious.
Yeah ok i didnt get much study done. | comments: 10 comments or Leave a comment |
